Joy: a cause of sorrow.
“When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy”
Kahlil Gibran (Joy and Sorrow )
Kahlil Gibran said that the things bringing us the most joy often end up causing us pain. For me, clearing the CLAT and getting into a top law school was a dream I worked hard for over two years. When I cleared exam my family and I were thrilled—after all, their otherwise 'failure' son was going to NLIU Bhopal. 😅
But no one tells you how challenging life can become afterward. Looking back, those days of preparation feel almost easy compared to the pressures of law school. The workload and expectations are tough and bring their own struggles. Yet, I have no choice but to embrace it and keep moving forward.
Maybe the takeaway is this: don’t get too carried away by any success, because what brings us happiness can also test us in ways we never expected.
